James Foley

Science Director

Mr. Foley is originally from the UK and has an MSc in Tropical Coastal Management from Newcastle University in Britain. James worked as research director then executive director for Roatán Marine Park Association in Honduras and as a teacher at University of Victoria before joining TIDE in 2011 to direct the research and monitoring program. Through his work in conservation and sustainable development issues in Belize, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Tobago, James has developed an in-depth environmental and political understanding of the region, and has a keen interest in working across disciplines to achieve sustainable and holistic Integrated Coastal Zone Management. James is fluent in Spanish and an experienced SCUBA instructor.
