GOAL: “We aspire to inspire both young and old to get involved in their community, help out where necessary, protect their environment, and preserve for our future, as our slogan says: WE ARE THE GREEN TEAM, WE EDUCATE, RESTORE AND PROTECT. Keep in mind team work is dream work, when we come together and we are determined nothing can change our minds.” The group hopes in the near future to expand their reach to other youths, “build an eco-park in our community” and “construct our very own eco warriors green garden!” Kathie Coy, club president (also T.E.C Executive President 2022-2023).
MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
1) Hosted a football marathon as a fundraiser whereby football teams under 17 played against each other. “We have seen sports are one way to get youths fully involved.”
2) Participated in TIDE Reef Week Volleyball tournament. “We got to challenge various clubs and visited different community.”
3) Took part in sessions with UNICEF and stoplight initiative about gender based violence and abuse & placed second in a follow up poster competition linked to the cause.
