TIDE’s Education and Outreach Coordinator Federico Caal travelled to Tela, Honduras to participate in WWF Mesoamerica’s Smart Coast Project Closing Event.
Mr. Caal was able to share with regional partners on the success of TIDE’s youth ambassadors project and how the youths from Toledo were able to broadcast conservation values and the importance of healthy coastal eco-systems through both local and national radio and tv shows.
Mr. Caal demonstrated how TIDE’s Youth ambassadors also undertook field trips, clean up events, and coastal restoration to bring resilience and health to some of the neglected areas in Toledo.
Mr. Caal spoke with various partners from Belize about the need to collaborate nationally with things like mapping data so organizations can better contextualize their local conservation efforts with a wider perspective.
TIDE is grateful to WWF and all our Ambassadors and participants for taking part in this project! Watch this space for future collaborations…
