Mass Audubon and TIDE have developed this International Certificate Program in Bird Ecology in collaboration with researchers, experienced naturalist guides, and professional ornithologists.
Goals:
This program’s primary goals are to:
- Enhance the ornithological knowledge base of the students,
- Provide professional development opportunities for educators and field naturalists,
- Strengthen the ecotourism industry in Belize by developing a strong team of naturalist guides, and
- Contribute to the appreciation for, and conservation of, wildlife and the habitats upon which they depend.
Who Should Attend this Program:
The audience for this program includes naturalist guides who want to gain an in-depth knowledge of bird life to enhance their leadership skills, government officials who want to understand more about the positive economic impact of ecotourism, and lodge owners who need to understand the skills and knowledge field trip leaders need to lead inspiring natural history adventures.
